Mundaring Medical Centre

A bit frightening to review a GP but fortunately I can give the Mundaring Medical Centre a good review. I have been going here over 20 years. The doctors and nursing staff have always been friendly and given good advice.

The doctors vary in their bedside manner of course and I guess its very much a personal choice as to how well you get on with a particular doctor.

The nursing staff are very professional and in combination with the pathology unit provide a well organised service.

You have to queue quite a bit of course, but you expect that at any doctors consulting rooms as they are organised for the convenience of the doctor rather than the patient. I don't blame them for that its just a fact of life. If you required urgent treatment you would get priority.

The only other problem I have is that the doctors time is scheduled for short consultations so there is pressure for you to get on with it if you require and extended consultation. Again I understand that this is necessary for the doctors to make a living and to avoid long waits for patients later in the queue. If I know it will take longer than usual I always book a double appointment.

There are some areas in which I think they could improve patient communication by adopting modern Internet based facilities (mainly email and sms). They could send you a reminder of when your appointment is due as many doctors do, ideally they would also let you know if the doctor is running late.

I have always been treated with total respect by all the staff. Dr Ilic is an excellent Doctor who has always been fantastic with knowledge and compassion. All of the Doctor's at the practice are also extremely knowledgeable.
